FINRA proposed extending the deadlines for completing qualification examinations from December 31, 2020 to April 30, 2021.

FINRA proposed extending the deadlines for completing qualification examinations from December 31, 2020 to April 30, 2021 for (i) individuals working as "Operations Professionals" under FINRA Rule 1220(b)(3)(B) ("Registration Categories") and (ii) individuals who are designated as principals under FINRA Rule 1210.04 ("Registration Requirements") (see previous coverage). FINRA said the proposed rule change was needed based on "the impacts of COVID-19 on the administration of FINRA qualification examinations at test centers." FINRA filed the proposed rule change for immediate effectiveness.
