On November 7, the 15th Judicial Circuit Pro Bono Committee held its inaugural Pro Bono Awards Pinning Ceremony honoring attorneys who went above and beyond in providing pro bono legal services through the Legal Aid Society of Palm Beach County. Day Pitney senior counsel Jay Mussman, who received a gold level recognition from Legal Aid Society for providing more than 100 hours of pro bono service during 2018, was recognized for his services. Mussman has provided pro bono services through the Legal Aid Society of Palm Beach County's Low Income Taxpayer Clinic since 2016. In addition, he leads Day Pitney's pro bono efforts throughout Florida.
The event was held at the Ceremonial Courtroom in the Palm Beach County Courthouse in West Palm Beach, FL. In attendance were Hon. Barbara Pariente, Florida Supreme Court Justice; Hon. Krista Marx, Chief Judge of the 15th Judicial Circuit; and Hon. Samantha Schosberg Feuer, 15th Judicial Circuit Court Judge and Pro Bono Committee Chair, as well as other members of the judiciary, legal community and dignitaries.
