Conyers is pleased to announce the promotion of Tameka Davis to Partner in the British Virgin Islands office. In Bermuda, Robert Alexander, Angela Atherden and Stephanie Bernard have been promoted to Counsel. In Hong Kong, Angie Chu has been promoted to Counsel.

BRITISH VIRGIN ISLANDS

Tameka Davis – Partner
Tameka joined Conyers in 2009 as a litigation lawyer. Her practice includes international insolvency, bringing and defending unfair prejudice, breach of contract, conspiracy and asset tracing claims, obtaining and resisting interim relief including disclosure and urgent injunctive relief, and commencing and resisting forum convenien applications. She is particularly skilled at civil procedure and the enforcement of foreign judgments and awards in the BVI. Tameka appears in the Commercial Division of the High Court of the Virgin Islands and the Court of Appeal. Her dispute resolution skills have been recognised since 2012 in Legal 500 Caribbean.

BERMUDA

Robert Alexander – Counsel
Robert's practice covers all aspects of corporate and commercial law, with particular expertise in funds, private equity and aircraft securitisations. He is recognised in the 2019 edition of Legal 500 Caribbean. Robert joined Conyers in 2009.

Angela Atherden – Counsel
Angela's practice covers all aspects of corporate and commercial law, including international asset finance with a focus on aviation finance. Angela is the co-author of the Bermuda chapter of Aircraft Finance (Sweet & Maxwell) 2018. She advises banks, airlines and leasing companies in connection with financing of commercial and private aircraft, aircraft portfolio securitizations, sale-leasebacks, pre-delivery payment and warehouse facilities and has worked on several of the most significant aircraft securitizations and financings in the market. Angela joined Conyers in 2005.

Stephanie Bernard – Counsel
Stephanie works in the Private Client & Trust practice. She has extensive experience advising individuals and fiduciaries on all aspects of trust law including international and local estate planning arrangements, wealth management structures, private trust companies and variation of trusts, as well as international and local pensions. Stephanie co-authored the Bermuda chapter of The World Trust Survey (Oxford University Press). Since 2017 she has been recognised in Legal 500 Caribbean. Stephanie joined Conyers in 2006.

HONG KONG

Angie Chu – Counsel
Angie is in the Corporate practice. Her focus is on all aspects of corporate law including IPOs, debt financings and general corporate work. Angie also has extensive experience on merger transactions. She qualified as a solicitor in New Zealand in 2004 and joined Conyers in June 2011.
