San Francisco – Global law firm Hogan Lovells Cadwalader announced today that David Emanuelson has joined the firm as a partner in the Antitrust and Competition practice area based in our San Francisco office. Emanuelson joins the firm from Arnold & Porter.
Emanuelson advises clients on merger analysis, complex private antitrust litigation, government investigations, and antitrust compliance. He has extensive experience with antitrust issues involving cutting-edge technologies such as semiconductor design and manufacturing, artificial intelligence, datacenters and cloud computing, autonomous driving, healthcare technology, and biotechnology.

Prior to joining Arnold & Porter, Emanuelson held multiple in-house antitrust leadership positions for over a decade, including serving as Chief M&A Regulatory Counsel and Associate General Counsel for Intel Corporation and Head of Antitrust Americas for Novartis Corporation.

Emanuelson has deep experience in M&A regulatory issues involving the intersection of antitrust and national security, including CFIUS, outbound investment restrictions, ex-U.S. foreign direct investment, and export control issues. He is one of the few antitrust lawyers outside of China with significant experience directly interacting with the Chinese regulatory authority.

Emanuelson received his J.D. from University of Illinois College of Law and his B.S. from Northern Illinois University.
