AZB & Partners ("AZB") acted as legal counsel to Opal Bidco Pte. Ltd. and Ruby Asia Holdings II Pte. Ltd. ("KKR") in securing unconditional approval from the Competition Commission of India ("CCI") for the 100% acquisition of STT GDC Pte. Ltd. ("STT GDC"). The CCI undertook a comprehensive review of the Indian data centre market, including its various segments, as part of its assessment. The AZB team's involvement in this matter underscores its experience in advising on complex, multi-party merger control filings before the CCI.
Earlier in 2024, the AZB team had also advised KKR and Singtel Interactive Pte. Ltd. in obtaining CCI approval for their minority investment in STT GDC, which was also CCI's first review of a filing in the data centre market.
