First completed private equity investment in a professional women's football league globally

Davies acted for the Northern Super League (NSL) in their partnership and sale of a strategic stake to APEX, an international sports investment firm. This transaction is the first private equity investment in a professional women's football league globally, reflecting growing investor confidence in the NSL and in women's football as a commercial asset class.

APEX's investment will support the league's next phase of growth. Davies previously provided pro bono legal support to AFC Toronto, an original NSL franchise, and led the negotiation and documentation of the agreements establishing the league.

The Davies team advising on the transaction was led by Brooke Jamison and included Danica Bennewies and Justine Jasnich (Private Equity); and Chris Anderson and Connor Hasegawa (Tax).
