Gowling WLG is pleased to congratulate Ottawa partner James Plotkin on receiving the County of Carleton Law Association's Regional Senior Justice Award, which recognizes lawyers in practice for 10 years or less who have demonstrated outstanding professional achievement and meaningful contributions to their communities.
James was selected for his exceptional contributions to the legal profession, including his leadership, professionalism, and significant scholarly work in the field of commercial arbitration. The award was presented on June 12 as part of the County of Carleton Law Association's annual awards program celebrating excellence within the Ottawa legal community.
A partner in Gowling WLG's Ottawa office, James practices in the areas of commercial litigation and arbitration, intellectual property litigation, and administrative law. He regularly represents clients in both domestic and international arbitrations and has appeared before the Supreme Court of Canada, the Federal Court of Appeal, the Federal Court, and all levels of court in Ontario. He is also a Qualified Arbitrator (Q.Arb) and serves on several arbitration and dispute resolution rosters.
