Four Ballard Spahr partners have been named to the Mergers and Acquisitions section of Minnesota Lawyer’s 2026 Minnesota Legal 250, an annual list of Minnesota’s most influential attorneys who demonstrate leadership throughout the state’s legal community.
The Minnesota Legal 250 spans 16 practice categories, with nominated attorneys selected by Minnesota Lawyer editorial staff based on consultation with legal sources and prior reporting.
The four Ballard Spahr attorneys recognized in the Minnesota Legal 250 for their work in Mergers and Acquisitions are:
- Neal K. Rasmussen: Neal advises companies and private equity funds on mergers and acquisitions, entity formation, corporate governance, divestitures, and general contract matters. His clients span a broad spectrum of industries, including manufacturing, food and beverage, healthcare, and technology.
- Barbara Lano Rummel: Barbara co-leads Ballard Spahr’s Corporate Group and is a former member of the firm’s Elected Board and Senior Leadership Team. Her practice covers a variety of M&A transactions involving public and privately held businesses, with deals ranging in size from under $10 million to more than $1 billion.
- Maggie M. Tatton: Maggie serves as practice leader of the firm's Private Equity Group. Her practice focuses on representing private and public companies and private equity funds in mergers, acquisitions, sales, and other strategic business transactions, including joint ventures, minority investments, roll-ups, and carve-out transactions.
- Robert E. Tunheim: Robert represents clients in mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance transactions, and general business matters. He provides counsel to a variety of private equity groups on their formation, investments, and liquidation transactions.
