Maples and Calder, the Maples Group’s law firm, is pleased to announce that its Latin America practice has won ‘Private Equity Deal of the Year’ at the Latin Lawyer 20th annual Deal of the Year Awards, recognising its work on one of the region’s most significant cross-border transactions.
Private Equity Deal of the Year recognised the firm’s role advising Prosus on its landmark acquisition of Despegar, a leading Latin American online travel agency. Ruairi Bourke, co-head of the BVI Corporate and Finance teams, and associate Elliot Ruffle provided BVI counsel to Prosus on the acquisition.
