WASHINGTON (April 2026) - Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney is pleased to announce that Daniel Pickard, shareholder and leader of the firm's International Trade and National Security practice group, has been named to the 2026-2027 USMCA Binational Panel Roster. Pickard has been appointed to the panel since 2021. The panelists play a critical role in helping resolve trade disputes between the U.S., Mexico and Canada.

The USMCA provides an independent binational dispute settlement panel process as an alternative to judicial review by the parties' domestic courts. Currently, the USMCA Secretariat is involved in 26 NAFTA and USMCA disputes involving 27 U.S. companies and 4 Trade Associations, over 971 thousand U.S. workers, and impacting more than $7.2 billion in subject merchandise. Each panelist plays a critical role in helping resolve trade disputes.

Pickard has more than 20 years of experience representing clients in international trade and national security related matters. He is rated among the nation's leading international trade lawyers and is a frequent presenter and commentator on U.S. trade policy. In 2022, he was selected to chair a NAFTA binational panel reviewing the final determination of the antidumping duty investigation on imports of certain softwood lumber products from Canada. He was also appointed to Industry Trade Advisory Committee (ITAC) 5, which focuses on critical minerals and nonferrous metals, two issues of increasing national security importance. He has been a member of ITAC since 2014. He has also previously served as a panelist for the NAFTA Chapter 19 Binational Panel Roster.
