Founded in 2012 by Dallas-based entrepreneur and client Sunny Nunan, the Admin Awards was inspired by her mother, a career Executive Secretary. Since then, the program has expanded to 10 cities across the U.S., becoming the gold standard for honoring those who lead from behind.
For 15 years, the Admin Awards has ensured that administrative professionals receive the visibility and recognition they deserve. Many companies have participated, honoring the people who make things happen.
This year, one of the most moving moments came when Wayne Zahner, CFO of the Recording Academy—a titan in music industry recognition—took the stage at the Admin Awards ceremony in San Francisco to honor his longtime Executive Assistant, the late Lani Simmons. In partnership with the GRAMMYs, the Admin Awards presented Lani with a posthumous Lifetime Achievement Award—a powerful reminder of the deep and lasting impact administrative professionals have on the organizations they serve.
The Good as Gold Gala will take place at the Royal Sonesta Houston Galleria on May 1, 2026—an unforgettable five-star celebration where Admins are the stars.
