April 2026 – Kinstellar is pleased to
announce that Patricia Backhausen, a highly regarded M&A lawyer
with extensive experience in complex cross-border transactions, has
joined the Vienna office as a Partner. Her arrival marks another
important step in the continued growth and strengthening of
Kinstellar’s M&A practice in Austria and across the
region.
Patricia advises in cross-border and domestic M&A
transactions, private equity transactions and venture capital
financing rounds. She has special expertise in M&A projects in
the digital industries and life sciences sectors as well as in
infrastructure projects. Her work includes advising both on
large-scale transactions as well as on investments in innovative
and high-growth businesses.
Patricia has been consistently recognised by leading
international legal directories for several years, including Legal
500, IFLR1000 and Chambers. She has notably been ranked as a
“Rising Star” in Commercial, Corporate and M&A in
Austria over several consecutive years – a level of
recognition achieved by very few Austrian practitioners in this
field. Clients particularly value her pragmatic, solutions-oriented
approach, her strong commercial understanding and her ability to
drive transactions forward with clear direction and efficiency.
Patricia joins Kinstellar from a prominent Austrian law firm and
brings extensive experience developed through her work at leading
practices throughout her career.
We are delighted to welcome Patricia
to Kinstellar. Her outstanding track record in M&A and private
equity, combined with her strong client relationships and
commercial mindset, makes her a natural fit for our team. With her
arrival, we further strengthen our ability to support clients on
complex, high-value transactions across the wider CEE region, while
deepening our sector expertise in technology, life sciences and
infrastructure. This also marks an important step forward for our
Vienna office. With more partners on the ground, we are elevating
our capabilities, driving international transactions, and
continuing to build strength.
Kristóf Ferenczi, Firm
Managing Partner
Kinstellar stands out for its clear
focus on high-quality transactional work, combined with a genuinely
collaborative and forward-thinking culture. A culture where people
can grow together. This provides an excellent framework for further
developing our M&A practice and supporting clients on complex
transactions. Working alongside the Vienna team – many of
whom have been former colleagues – makes this next step
particularly rewarding. Strong transactions are ultimately driven
by strong, diverse teams – and contributing to an environment
that embraces this approach is something I firmly believe in.
