WASHINGTON, D.C. (March 31, 2026) — Barnes & Thornburg has added Michael Mancusi as a D.C.-based partner in the Financial Innovation and Regulation practice, further enhancing the firm’s financial services regulatory and enforcement capabilities.
Mancusi’s arrival follows a series of corporate partner additions across multiple markets in 2026 and reflects the firm’s continued focus on expanding its regulatory offerings for institutional and financial services clients.
“Michael’s background in banking regulation and investigations strengthens our ability to help clients navigate an increasingly complex regulatory landscape,” said Corporate Department Chair Jahan Sharifi. “His arrival enhances the scope of services we provide, and he represents the caliber of talent we're committed to attracting as we continue building best-in-class practices in our key markets."
Recognized by Chambers USA as "a key player in the enforcement arena," Mancusi represents domestic and foreign banks, credit unions, and other financial services clients in a wide range of state and federal regulatory, compliance, and enforcement matters. He also has substantial experience representing clients in government and corporate internal investigations. He previously was a partner at Arnold & Porter and served in the enforcement division of the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, where he handled banking law enforcement actions.
“Michael’s arrival is an important addition to our D.C. office and our national financial services platform,” said Roscoe Howard, managing partner of the firm’s D.C. office. “His government and enforcement background allows us to offer clients practical, informed guidance at the intersection of regulation and enforcement.”
Mancusi earned his law degree and MBA from the University of Richmond. He received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Virginia.
"Joining Barnes & Thornburg represents a tremendous opportunity to work with a firm that understands the complex regulatory challenges facing financial institutions today," said Mancusi. "The firm's strong platform, collegial culture, and commitment to providing practical, business-focused advice align perfectly with my approach to client service.”
