Partner Andrea Kallis Parparinou represented the firm and Cyprus at the 2025 Annual General Meeting of the Employment Law Alliance (ELA) in Dublin. The meeting brought together practitioners from across more than 100 jurisdictions to discuss key trends and cross-border developments in employment law. We acknowledge A&L Goodbody and the ELA leadership for organising a well-structured programme.
The AGM featured a keynote address by Danny McCoy, CEO of IBEC, who discussed the growing significance of intangible assets—such as intellectual property, data, and proprietary technology—in global business models. He emphasised the corresponding need for legal systems that can provide clear and reliable protection for these assets.
McCoy's remarks highlighted the important role of common-law jurisdictions in delivering predictability for companies operating in IP-driven sectors. Drawing a parallel to Cyprus, one of only two common-law jurisdictions in the European Union, and with continuously expanding innovation and technology sectors, the protection and safeguarding of IP becomes increasingly relevant.
Andrea's involvement reinforces the firm's collaboration within the ELA network and supports our capacity to advise clients on employment and related legal matters across multiple jurisdictions.
