(NEWARK – October 30, 2025) NJBIZ, one of the state’s leading business publications, has chosen John D. Haggerty, a Director in Gibbons P.C.’s Business & Commercial Litigation Group, as one of its “Forty Under 40” for 2025. Mr. Haggerty, one of only seven attorneys among this year’s honorees, received his award on October 30 during a ceremony at The DoubleTree by Hilton in Somerset, New Jersey.
Each year since 2006, NJBIZ has selected as its “Forty Under 40” those individuals “who are making their mark on New Jersey’s business landscape.” Featuring a variety of professionals from areas like healthcare, finance, law, education, real estate, and more, the “Forty Under 40” demonstrate exceptional commitment to their own professional careers, as well as their local communities and the state’s business environment.
Mr. Haggerty joined Gibbons as an associate in 2012, becoming a Director in 2021. Representing clients in a variety of matters in federal and state courts, including high-stakes commercial disputes, professional liability defense, and white collar litigation, Mr. Haggerty focuses his practice on complex litigation at the trial and appellate levels. He also has significant experience representing clients in connection with government and internal investigations.
Before joining Gibbons, Mr. Haggerty served as a law clerk to the Honorable Joel A. Pisano of the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey.
While with Gibbons, he has been included on Benchmark Litigation’s “40 & Under List,” in both 2024 and 2025; and recognized in the 2026 edition of Best Lawyers® for Commercial Litigation.
