We have advised Coinbase on its acquisition of Echo, a leading onchain capital raising platform, for approximately US$375m.
The transaction marks a significant development in the digital
assets space, enhancing access to capital for emerging ventures and
expanding investment opportunities for the crypto community.
Working alongside Latham & Watkins LLP, our multidisciplinary team advised on the British Virgin Islands (BVI) law aspects of the transaction.
Our team was led by Neil McDonald, Head of Corporate and M&A in our London office. He was supported by London-based Regulatory partner Benjamin Twidle, Dispute Resolution partner Jennifer Maughan, Investment Funds partner Hughie Wong and senior counsel Alastair King, and Corporate and M&A senior associates Catherine Outerbridge and Tom Esler.
From our BVI office, Corporate and M&A partner Omonike Robinson-Pickering and associate Royan George provided further support.
'We have been delighted to act as BVI counsel on this significant transaction, which underscores our continued commitment to supporting innovation and M&A activity in the fintech and blockchain sectors', said Neil McDonald.
'It has been brilliant working with Coinbase and the Latham & Watkins team, and congratulations to them and everyone involved in the deal.'
