New York, October 16, 2025 – Proskauer is pleased to announce that Laura Gavioli has joined the Firm as a partner in the Tax Department and Litigation Department, based in New York. Laura advises clients on complex tax controversy and litigation matters, bringing extensive experience from both private practice and government service.
Laura's practice focuses on tax controversy and high-stakes tax disputes, representing corporations, funds, ultra-high net worth individuals and family offices in federal and state examinations, administrative proceedings and litigation. Previously, she served as Special Counsel in the Litigation and Advisory Division of the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) Office of Chief Counsel and as a partner at leading AmLaw 100 firms. In 2024, Laura led a trial team named Outstanding Litigation Team of the Year by the U.S. Department of Treasury. Laura's experience spans trial and appellate matters before the U.S. Tax Court, Court of Federal Claims, Federal District Courts, Courts of Appeals nationwide, and the U.S. Supreme Court. She has handled U.S. and international tax issues involving estate and gift tax controversies, pass-through entities, cross-border transactions, and treaty and transfer pricing matters.
