Manatt Health National Advisor Mandy Cohen is serving as an advisor for the new Governors Public Health Alliance, a coalition of governors aimed at protecting the health of people across the United States.
Acting as a nonpartisan platform for governors and their states, the Governors Public Health Alliance provides coordination on safeguarding public health and addressing health threats across state lines. Backed by GovAct—a nonprofit, nonpartisan initiative that helps governors defend fundamental freedoms such as public health—the Alliance serves as a unified liaison with the global health community, facilitating cross-state collaboration through the sharing of best practices, elevating national considerations for vaccine policy and implementing regulatory solutions.
In her role as an advisor, Cohen will assist the Health Alliance with its campaign to strengthen public health protections and support governors and their teams through data sharing and communication about health threat detection, emergency preparedness and response, and public health guidance and policy.
“With many health threats at our doorstep, collaboration and communication between Governors is essential to protect the health of families and save lives,” Cohen said in GovAct’s announcement. “This alliance creates the framework to support the national coordination needed to safeguard communities.”
Cohen was also quoted in various media publications on this news, including The Washington Post and Associated Press.
