In early July, MLT Aikins summer student Sarah Hoag travelled to London, England alongside Team Canada to participate in the 2025 International Negotiation Competition.
Initially an alternate for the event, Sarah had an opportunity to step into the action herself, coaching Team Canada 2 in four international rounds. Each round represented a different set of interests related to the competition theme: The business of aviation.Earlier this year, the two teams – both from the University of Saskatchewan – placed first and second at the Canadian National Negotiation competition where they negotiated for "moot" Aboriginal land and construction development deals.
In addition to her coaching role, Sarah also took advantage of opportunities afforded by the Competition, networking with peers from around the world and attending masterclass sessions taught by elite international negotiators. During their downtime in London, Team Canada students and coaches enjoyed the sights and attended Canada House where they were greeted by the Honourable Ralph Goodale.
