Avery Locklear, a labor and employment attorney in Ward and Smith's Wilmington office, has been appointed Treasurer of the UNC Pembroke Board of Visitors. Her appointment was confirmed following a full vote by the Board during its May 31st meeting. She will serve a two-year term.
Avery has been an active member of the Board of Visitors since November 2024. In that time, she's played a hands-on role in helping the university strengthen connections with alumni, businesses, and policymakers while offering valuable input on key university initiatives.
