Join the cochairs of Wilson Elser’s Design Professionals Practice, Wendy Testa and Ryan Williams, as they examine the use of experts in defending design professionals.

This course contributes to a broad understanding of the effective use of experts in successfully defending design professional claims through smart selection and vetting of appropriate experts based on causes of action asserted. Wendy and Ryan will discuss the jurisdictional nuances related to designation of experts and proper and timely expert discovery to avoid preclusion of expert evidence through pretrial motion practice.

Finally, adjusters will learn the value of working with experts to draft critical opinions and provide key expert testimony to reduce or eliminate exposure to design professionals who face significant exposure in today’s construction industry related to technological advances in design and in the field, nontraditional delivery methods, continuing labor and supply chain issues, and value engineering.
