The team at Legalmax's Almaty office, in close cooperation with the global legal team representing the brand, successfully implemented a comprehensive set of legal measures aimed at safeguarding the BOSS trademark and preventing its imitation and unfair use within the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Our work involved the development of a long-term and consistent strategy, tailored to the specifics of local legal regulation, as well as the representation of the client before both judicial and administrative authorities.
A court case covered by the media ( Tengrinews) highlights just one episode of the broader, systematic effort undertaken on behalf of the trademark owner. The key objective of the project was to reduce the number of trademark registrations confusingly similar to BOSS, and to prevent the use of such designations in the names of third-party entities and brands — particularly in the retail apparel sector — in order to protect the brand's distinctiveness and reputation.
The project was comprehensive in nature and executed through close coordination between Legalmax's attorneys and patent attorneys. One of the key contributors to this work was Raushan Issabekova.
