Taft’s Donnie Morgan was elected president of the Seventh Circuit Bar Association on May 2. The Seventh Circuit Bar Association advocates for the fair and effective administration of justice and fosters collaboration between lawyers and judges within the Seventh Circuit. It plans and hosts programs that bring judges and lawyers together across the circuit’s three states—Indiana, Illinois, and Wisconsin.
Morgan is a trusted appellate advocate and public-sector lawyer. In the courtroom, he has experience at all levels of the federal and Indiana judicial systems—including work on appeals before the U.S. Supreme Court and the Indiana Supreme Court. He has served as lead counsel for parties or amici in dozens of appeals and served as the principal briefing author in more. In addition to his leadership of the Seventh Circuit Bar Association, he also serves the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals directly through his appointments to the court’s Circuit Rules Advisory Committee and the 2025 Circuit Conference Planning Committee.
