ROYAL OAK, Michigan – Brooks Kushman is pleased to announce that Hope Shovein has been named Co-Chair of the firm's Trademark Practice. In this role, Hope works alongside Co-Chair Molly Crandall to lead the firm's trademark operations, nurture client relationships, and drive strategic initiatives.
As Co-Chairs, Hope and Molly oversee trademark prosecution and enforcement activities across the firm. They work closely with other firm leaders to implement strategic growth initiatives for the Trademark Practice, enhance processes for streamlined client service and portfolio management, and mentor junior attorneys and staff on trademark law and best practices.
With over 20 years of intellectual property experience, Hope has a wealth of expertise in managing trademark portfolios and crafting comprehensive IP strategies. She specializes in trademark clearance, prosecution, and enforcement for domestic and multinational companies. Hope also advises on brand protection programs, including investigations, demand letters, online and social media platform takedowns, domain name disputes, and Trademark Trial and Appeal Board (TTAB) proceedings. She is adept at helping clients enforce their rights across all mediums, including addressing unauthorized use of trademarks and copyrighted materials online.
Hope's leadership within the IP community is well-established. She is a Past Chair of both the State Bar of Michigan (SBM) Intellectual Property Law Section and the Young Lawyers Section, and she previously served as a Commissioner on the SBM Board of Commissioners. Hope has also served on committees within the International Trademark Association (INTA) since 2006, currently serving on the Unreal Campaign Committee, which advances INTA's consumer awareness initiative designed to educate young consumers on the dangers of counterfeit products. Since 2018, Hope has been consistently recognized by World Trademark Review in its prestigious "WTR 1000" rankings.
