Topic of the conference: VAT to the future
In the world of VAT, 2024 marks both the 70th anniversary of the very first adoption of the modern VAT system and the 30th anniversary of the foundation of the International VAT Association (“IVA”) in London. The theme for the conference is “VAT to the future”, looking back at the development of the tax over the last 30 years and looking forward at what the global VAT/GST/Indirect tax landscape could look like in the next 30 years. Looking at challenging areas such as simplification, sustainability, and technology (digitalization).
