Life Sciences & Healthcare Regulatory partner Howard Sklamberg was featured in numerous publications — including CNN, The Washington Post, MarketWatch, MJBizDaily, Marijuana Moment, KNX News On Demand, Ars Technica, and mg Magazine — regarding the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services' recent recommendation to move cannabis from Schedule I to Schedule III under federal law.

Sklamberg, who noted the possibility of the rescheduling in previous articles, said he expects the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency to issue a proposed rule sometime in the coming months and that cannabis could officially be moved to Schedule III by the first half of 2024.

In discussing the possible impacts of a proposed rule, Sklamberg told Ars Technica that a rule "could make it easier in some states to legalize and decriminalize" cannabis.
