We would like to invite you to join the latest webinar in our Knowledge Insights Series "Consumer Representative Actions: Are you Ready?", which will take place on Tuesday, 16 May 2023 at 11:00 am (GMT+1).

Kieran O'Callaghan, Senior Legal Advisor at the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC) will be joined by Matheson partners, Julie Murphy-O'Connor and Michael Byrne from our Disputes and Investigations Group and Kate McKenna from our Competition and Regulation Group.

Our panel will discuss the practical implications for Irish consumer-facing businesses, from all sectors, of the Representative Actions for the Protection of the Collective Interests of Consumers Bill 2023. This will give effect to the EU Representative Actions Directive in relation to the protection of collective interests of consumers and is intended to apply to representative actions brought in respect of infringements by traders from Sunday, 25 June 2023. This will be the first time a general consumer class action is facilitated in Ireland.

To ensure we address the issues that really matter to you, we invite you to submit your questions for the panel as part of the registration process below. It will also be possible to submit your questions online during the webinar.

We hope you will be able to join us for what promises to be an insightful and timely event ahead of these imminent changes.
