Collas Crill will close its Guernsey-based UK Real Estate practice, with effect from Monday 13 February.
Partner Michael Morris, Senior Associate Donald Millar and Business Assistant Tracy Vidamour move to Spencer West LLP on Tuesday 14 February to launch a new English real estate practice and continue to provide their services from Spencer West's new Guernsey office.
Collas Crill's Group Managing Partner Jason Romer said: 'We made the decision to stop offering UK real estate services as recognise that the practice of English law aligns better with an onshore firm than an offshore environment like ours.
'On behalf of the Collas Crill partnership, I'd like to wish Michael and team all the very best with this exciting new venture and have no doubt that the team will continue to build on their success at Spencer West. We look forward to continuing to work with them on matters requiring UK real estate legal advice.'
All of Collas Crill's UK Real Estate clients have been notified of the move in writing with clear guidance to ensure a smooth transition and seamless continuity of service, including secure transfer of confidential information.
As outlined in the letter, after Monday 13 February, clients can still contact Collas Crill regarding any legacy queries relating to, for example, invoicing and access to old files. However, from this date, Collas Crill LLP will not provide English law legal advice or services and in order to receive such advice and/or services going forward, clients must instruct either Spencer West LLP or another firm of English Solicitors.
