Members of Cahill's trial team have been named Litigators of the Week byThe American Lawyerfollowing their winning defense of Credit Suisse after an eight-day jury trial in the Southern District of New York. The case was filed in 2013 by a class of plaintiffs, who sued 16 of the largest Wall Street banks, alleging that they had conspired to violate the federal antitrust laws by fixing prices in the $5 trillion-per-day foreign exchange currency market. Throughout the next several years of litigation, 15 of the banks settled for more than $2.3 billion combined, leaving Credit Suisse to try the case alone.

In the profile, Herbert Washer, partner and chair of Cahill's Litigation Department, and partners Edward Moss and Tammy Roy discuss what was at stake for the client, the importance of this victory and what it means for other banks and class action defendants, and what they will remember most about this precedent-setting matter.
