As we count down to the National Environment Standards for
Plantation Forestry coming into force on 1 May 2018, amendments
have been gazetted this week that will have implications for how
local authorities recognise the NES in their plans. The amendments
include clarifying that a rule in a regional plan may be more
stringent than the NES if it gives effect to an objective developed
to give effect to the National Policy Statement for Freshwater
Management.
More to come soon.
