Six internet sites (Spanish Tracker, PCTorrent.com, NewPCT.com, PCTestrenos, com, Descargaya.es and TumejorTV.com) were blocked in May following accusations that their content infringed Spanish copyright law. As a result of the block, internet service providers (ISPs) in Spain were told to prevent their customers from accessing the infringing sites. Following the imposition of the blocks, traffic to the sites immediately fell. However, the innately flexible nature of internet technology, allowed some of the sites to set up alternate domains and proxies, allowing frequent users to circumvent the block. A court in Zaragoza has now called for the blocks to be lifted in view of its finding that there were "insufficient grounds" to keep them in force.
