The travel ban into the EU has been extended until June 30, 2020. Travelling to Sweden will be limited to the following:

  • Swedish citizens, EU citizens, and people who have a residence permit in Sweden may still enter the country for the purpose of returning to their homes; and
  • Those with particularly urgent needs or who are to carry out essential functions in Sweden.

Foreign nationals that have recently obtained a work permit must begin employment within 4 months from the start date noted on the work permit. If the employee is not able to begin work on time, the permit must be withdrawn.
