A New System of Business Chambers In Poland

There is a bill before parliament which, if passed, would establish a completely new system of chambers of commerce.

Five groups have been proposed:
  • construction
  • industry and commerce
  • crafts
  • trade and services
  • transport.
Of primary concern is the requirement that all business entities join such an organisation (over 2 million entities). This would involve a compulsory membership fee, non-payment of which could even lead to a prohibition on carrying on economic activity.

Each chamber would have its own "court" which would sanction non-compliance to the chambers statute and decisions.

Tax laws and practise are constantly being revised and, whilst every effort is made to ensure that the information in this tax newsletter is accurate and timely, no decision should be taken on the basis of the information herein without first consulting with KPMG Polska.
