WHO CAN APPLY?

Beneficiaries to register with the GHS of Cyprus

  • Holders of Permanent Cyprus Permits

    Holders of permanent Cyprus' permits are allowed to register with the GHS of Cyprus and enjoy all the services available.
  • Holders of Temporary Cyprus Permits

    MEU1 holders of temporary residence permit being in Cyprus as employees are eligible to be registered to GHS.

    MEU1 holders of temporary residence permit being in Cyprus as pensioners are eligible to be registered to GHS.
  • Non Holders of Any Cyprus Permit

    Foreign nationals who are not registered in Cyprus and do not have an ARC number cannot register with the GHS of Cyprus. However, such persons are able to apply and obtain a special hospitalization card to use public hospitals and doctor services.

British Nationals who have arrived in Cyprus after 1st of January 2021

British Nationals, who will arrive in Cyprus after January 1st 2021, will be considered as third-country nationals (non-EU citizens).

Such persons, who have their ordinary residence in the areas controlled by Cyprus Government and have acquired a valid residence permit from the Civil Registry and Migration Department, are beneficiaries when any of the following conditions apply:

  • Work in the areas controlled by Cyprus Government or
  • Have acquired the right of Permanent Residence or
  • Have been granted refugee or supplementary protection status or
  • Are Family members (spouse, child) of a GHS Beneficiary or
  • Are insured in another EU Member State

Provided that any of the above five (5) categories applies, the applicant is considered to be a beneficiary of GHS of Cyprus and such a person is able to register with the GHS of Cyprus.
