On Oct. 3, 2018, the Town of Collingwood announced that it had sold its electrical utility Collus Powerstream to EPCOR Utilities Inc., following the successful completion of two share purchase transactions.

First, the Town purchased Alectra Utilities Corp.'s 50% stake in Collingwood PowerStream. Alectra was formerly called PowerStream and purchased 50% of the Collus shares from the Town in 2012.

Second, EPCOR purchased all of the Collus shares from the Town.
