Arnold & Porter was recognized at the 2022 Chambers Diversity & Inclusion Awards: North America for its outstanding pro bono work over the past year. The firm was "Commended" in the category of Pro Bono: Outstanding Firm USA, Private Practice. The Chambers Diversity & Inclusion Awards: North America "celebrate the fantastic achievements of firms and individuals who are furthering the advancement of diversity and inclusion across the USA and Canada."

Arnold & Porter has achieved a number of pro bono victories over the past year, including prevailing in a landmark case against Denver police and reaching a settlement agreement that resolved portions of four separate lawsuits filed by Black Lives Matter DC and 13 individual protestors against the Trump Administration and others for wrongfully attacking the protestors at Lafayette Square. Arnold & Porter attorneys also have received a variety of recent accolades for their pro bono service, including senior pro bono counsel John A. Freedman, who was recognized by the Washington Lawyers' Committee for Civil Rights and Urban Affairs with the 2022 Wiley A. Branton Award and senior associate Preston Smith was recognized as a "Pro Bono Service Champion" by the Virginia Access to Justice Commission for his outstanding pro bono contributions throughout 2020 and 2021.
