We are proud to announce that Sharon Xuereb and Alexia Valenzia, both members of our intellectual property, data protection and IT team, have been nominated to sit on the Malta IT Law Association's Executive Committee for 2021. 

Sharon is a senior associate within the firm and her main areas of practice are media and communications law, laws on intellectual property, information technology and privacy law. Sharon is a regular speaker at Intellectual Property and ICT conferences and is also a lecturer at Middlesex University where she teaches an E-Commerce and Information Technology Law module to Master students reading for an MSc in Business Information Systems and Data Science. 

Alexia is an associate within the firm and her main areas of practice are intellectual property, pharmaceutical and healthcare, technology and privacy laws. She was recruited as a trainee with the firm in 2016 and obtained a Masters in Law (LL.M) degree in Corporate and Commercial Law with the University of London via correspondence in 2020. Prior to this, she graduated from The City Law School in London after having completed the Graduate Diploma in Law course and after having obtained a First-class Honours degree in Pharmacology from the University of Portsmouth in 2015.

MITLA is an association formed of individuals with various professional backgrounds which works towards contributing to Malta's digital future. Much of 2021 will be focused on extending its member outreach programme, as well as playing a pivotal role for Malta at EU level in the areas of IT Law.
