Welcome to our latest international employment law update – designed to ensure those of you dealing with HR at an international level are kept up-to-date on changes to employment laws in some of the key business nations.

In this edition, we have decided to shine the spotlight on Europe (however, I promise that Brexit is not mentioned once)! This edition focusses on key cases that the courts across Europe have recently had to grapple with, and considers what the implications of these cases (as well as a few legislative developments) will be for employers. The subjects covered in the newsletter are as diverse as always, ranging from the introduction of a new "personal holiday" in Austria, a key ruling on overtime payments for part-time employees in Germany and the lawfulness of using GPS tracking devices to monitor employees in France. If you want to know more about any of the articles featured in the newsletter, please do let us know.

As many of you will know, Taylor Vinters specialises in providing employment law assistance to multinationals across their countries of operation through its international counsel model. I am delighted to announce that this model is soon to be evolving. Known as ONE, our new solution selects experienced, appropriate law firms wherever you need them globally; all managed as ONE integrated service, with ONE primary adviser and ONE point of contact. ONE will be capable of delivering new standards of quality and consistency in the way global legal services are provided meaning that it has the potential to transform the way that business is done worldwide.

The content of this article is intended to provide a general guide to the subject matter. Specialist advice should be sought about your specific circumstances.
