Robert Herrington

Robert J. Herrington, Co-Chair of the firm’s Class Action Litigation Group, focuses his practice on defending consumer products companies in complex, multi-party litigation, including class actions, government enforcement litigation, product defect litigation and mass torts. Rob represents companies in a variety of industries, including apparel and footwear, retail, emerging technologies, consumer electronics, video game, telecommunications, advertising and publicity, online retailing, food and beverage, nutritional supplements, personal care products, sports and fitness, outdoor equipment, home appliances, automotive, and insurance.

Rob is the author of the best-selling book, Verdict for the Defense (Sutton Hart Press 2011), and a co-author of the first and second editions of The Class Action Fairness Act: Law and Strategy (ABA Publishing 2013 and 2022) as well as Class Action Strategy and Practice Guide (ABA Publishing 2018). Rob was recognized as the "Class Action Litigation Lawyer of the Year" (2017) by the Century City Bar Association. In 2013, 2014 and 2015, Rob was named in Law360's list of "Top Attorneys Under 40" for Class Actions.

Rebekah Guyon

Rebekah S. Guyon is a privacy and intellectual property attorney whose practice focuses on copyright, trademark, right of publicity, First Amendment, data privacy, security, behavioral advertising, Internet-related, commercial contract, and business disputes and class action defense. Rebekah is an experienced litigator before both state and federal courts and domestic and international arbitration panels. Rebekah regularly advises clients in the e-commerce and Internet space on novel areas of intellectual property, data privacy, and California law. Rebekah is fluent in cutting edge communications platforms and all aspects of eDiscovery.

Prior to joining the firm, Rebekah was a law clerk for the Honorable James O. Browning in the U.S. District Court for the District of New Mexico.

Jonathan Claydon

Jonathan H. Claydon focuses his practice on complex litigation and class action defense with broad experience representing clients in the financial services industry arising from lending and retail banking operations, including Ponzi scheme and other fraud-related matters. His banking and financial services clients include national and retail banks, credit unions, mortgage lenders, broker-dealers, and investors. Recently, Jon has been centrally involved in COVID-19 related litigation, helping establish new and important precedent for financial institutions, including the management of nationwide teams handling cases touching on all aspects of the Paycheck Protection Program. Jon also has experience defending clients in class actions in a variety of industries, including consumer and retail products, automotive and food and beverage.

Nilda Isidro

Nilda M. Isidro focuses her practice on the representation and defense of product companies, with an emphasis on pharmaceutical, medical device, and consumer product litigation. She litigates a variety of complex matters in both state and federal courts, including mass torts and multi-district litigations (MDLs). In addition, Nilda regularly provides strategic counseling to a wide range of clients—at every stage of the product life cycle—on issues including product launches, labeling and warnings, regulatory compliance, good manufacturing practices (GMPs), product warranties, and related litigation avoidance and risk management issues. 

Michael McCarthy

Michael McCarthy’s practice focuses on complex litigation in several fields, including class actions, mass arbitrations, products liability, false advertising, entertainment, financial institutions and construction. Michael has considerable experience in consumer class action litigation, representing companies in the consumer electronics, retail, ecommerce, home appliance, transportation and homebuilding industries.

Michael also volunteers his time for pro bono matters, including asylum, convention against torture and special immigrant juvenile claims.

Sylvia Simson

A shareholder in GT’s New York office, is a litigator with a diverse practice focused on a broad range of complex commercial litigation as well as mass torts/products liability, financial services, life sciences, and environmental matters.  Ms. Simson is experienced both in trials and appeals and has deep experience with multi-district litigation, class action defense, and the coordination of related actions in different jurisdictions.
