The Office of Fair Trading (OFT) is consulting on its draft Annual Plan for 2006/7, in which it confirms its renewed interest in the construction area. The OFT plans to coordinate and concentrate its approach on three core construction areas:
- Inputs – building work and supplies (mainly cartels);
- Supply of new buildings - commercial and domestic; and
- Services relating to housing - including estate agency, repairs etc.
The OFT is planning to publish a summary of its work and achievements in the construction area by April 2007.
Any comments on the draft Annual Plan should be submitted by 6 February 2006. (For the full text click on, or copy and paste, the following link).
