Holman Webb Lawyers is pleased to announce a change in the role of Chairman. Effective as of 1 October, Wendy MacDonnell, Partner within the firm's Insurance Group will replace Litigation & Dispute Resolution Partner John Wakefield, who has held the position since 2013.
Almost a decade of leadership
For almost a decade John has led Holman Webb Lawyers in the role of Chairman, whilst proudly representing clients in the firm's commercial practice. John has led, and will continue to lead the firm's Dispute Resolution Group, and will carry on in his role as an arbitrator and mediator.
Holman Webb would like to extend our sincere thanks and congratulations to John for his near decade of service in leading the firm as Chairman, and looks forward to his ongoing leadership and contribution to the firm.
On his transition from Chairman, John Wakefield said:

About Wendy MacDonnell
This announcement coincides with Wendy's 30-year anniversary with Holman Webb Lawyers, having joined the firm in June 1992. Wendy has practised in Insurance Litigation for over 25 years, primarily in the public and product liability areas. In more recent years, her practice has been almost-exclusively focused on CTP Insurance.
On her appointment to Chairman, Wendy MacDonnell said:
"John achieved a great deal in his almost 10 years, but it is perhaps the last few years which were the most important. Under his guidance Holman Webb moved offices, achieved significant technological advancement, and became 'paper light' - enabling staff to work from home at full capacity.
As I proudly step into the position of Chairman, I plan to draw on the fantastic legacy and platform that John has built. With the ongoing support of all within the firm, I look forward to playing a pivotal role in taking Holman Webb Lawyers to the next level."
