We are a contemporary London law firm, rooted in tradition with a lasting legacy of client service. Founded in 1780, we recognise the long-standing relationships we have with our clients and how they have helped shape our past and provide a platform for our future. With 76 partners supported by over 300 lawyers and support staff, we operate on a four practice group model: private client, business services, real estate and dispute resolution. Our driving force is to empower our clients by providing quality legal advice, insight and intelligence that enables them to achieve their goals whether personal or business. We are large enough to advise on the most complex matters, but small enough to ensure that our people and our work remain exceptional and dynamic. Building relationships is at the heart of everything we do.
Wedlake Bell have submitted a proposal for a panel discussion to MIPIM UK Calling. Our topic is 'Tomorrow's Cities, Today's Challenges'.

Wedlake Bell have submitted a proposal for a panel discussion to MIPIM UK Calling. Our topic is 'Tomorrow's Cities, Today's Challenges'. With the prediction that more than 60 % of the world's population will live in cities by 2030, significant challenges face the cities in the UK.

If successful, we will consider what this means for the real estate industry and explore the issues with our panel of leading industry speakers: Liz Peace, outgoing Chief Executive of the BPF, Tim Allen of Peter Brett Associates, Helen Garthwaite, Construction and Sustainable Development Partner at Wedlake Bell and BCO Board Member and Suzanne Gill, Commercial Property Partner at Wedlake Bell and commercial property columnist for the Law Society Gazette.

Topics covered will include:

  • Connectivity within and between hub cities, the home and the workplace
  • Smart cities and smarter buildings – what will the internet of things mean for the property industry?
  • Blurring home and work boundaries – the impact of modern lifestyles on infrastructure and building design, construction and operation
  • Property and the environment – will sustainability become truly important for real estate?

We believe this discussion is of key significance and interest for all those in the real estate industry.
Please vote for us and encourage your colleagues to vote for us too.
