Quadrant Chambers is proud to celebrate International Women’s Day. This year’s theme, “Give to Gain,” highlights the impact we can make by giving our time, resources, and support to women.
Many women face barriers we may rarely consider, such as access to suitable clothing for interviews or professional environments. With this in mind, we are donating professional clothing to Smart Works, an exceptional charity that provides not only high quality workwear but also coaching, confidence building, and tailored support to help women take the next step toward employment and independence. Many members of Chambers have taken part in donating clothes, and we will continue to support the organisation in any way we can.
We are also proud to support and make a monetary donation to South West London Law Centres (SWLLC), whose work offers a vital lifeline to women facing crisis. In the past year alone, SWLLC has:
- Supported hundreds of women facing eviction, unsafe housing or homelessness.
- Helped women increase income, challenge incorrect benefit decisions, and escape financial crisis.
- Enabled migrant women and survivors of domestic abuse to resolve their immigration status and access safety, stability, and independence.
One of our members of Chambers, Nichola Warrender KC, is a volunteer Chair and Trustee of this charity, and we look forward to learning how our donation has helped more women achieve the housing, social and economic justice they deserve.
Both Smart Works and SWLLC change lives every day, helping women regain confidence, security, and hope for the future. By giving what we can today, we hope to help women take positive steps toward a brighter tomorrow.
If you’re looking for a meaningful way to mark International Women’s Day, we encourage you to support the life changing work of Smart Works and South West London Law Centres.
