Corrs Chambers Westgarth has become aware of an email scam in which organisations are sent an email purporting to be from Corrs.

The text of the email refers to 'breaching rights' and 'negligently embarking on certain causes'. The email claims to attach a full brief of the law suit, which we understand contains malware.

This is not a genuine communication from Corrs and recipients should not open the attachment.

Suspicious emails purporting to be from Corrs should be reported (not forwarded) to corrs.it.security@corrs.com.au and also to the recipient's IT department / information security team, and then deleted.

Corrs has reported the email scam to the Australian Cyber Security Centre so that the matter can be investigated.
