Observed every April 26, World Intellectual Property Day was established by World Intellectual Property Office (WIPO) to raise awareness of the impacts of IP on our daily life. WIPO has announced that this year's theme for World Intellectual Property Day will be: Powering Change: Women in Innovation and Creativity.

From WIPO's press release, "This year's World Intellectual Property Day campaign celebrates the brilliance, ingenuity, curiosity and courage of the women who are driving change in our world and shaping our common future." The hope for this year's theme is that it will encourage an increasing number of women and girls in creative and technological fields and highlight how IP can support their innovation.

WIPO invites us to use the hashtag #worldipday to talk about female inventors and creators who have inspired us.
