NEW YORK (August 20, 2026) – Holland & Knight advised Bladex Inc., (Bladex) as sole lead arranger and bookrunner, on a $125 million syndicated loan granted to Southern Energy S.A. (SESA).
The development of this project represents a milestone for Argentina's energy matrix by facilitating the monetization, liquefaction and export of gas from Vaca Muerta, one of the world's most important unconventional gas resources. The deal constitutes the first international syndicated facility led by Bladex for SESA.
SESA is backed by Pan American Energy, YPF, Pampa Energía, Harbour Energy and Golar LNG. The Argentine companies participating in the project are among the country's largest natural gas producers.
Originally established by the central banks of the region, Bladex provides financial solutions to financial institutions and corporations throughout Latin America and the Caribbean. Headquartered in Panama, the bank maintains offices in Argentina, Brazil, Colombia and Mexico, a New York agency and a representative office in Peru. Bladex has been listed on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE: BLX) since 1992.
