Global law firm Hogan Lovells Cadwalader advises EAAIF on a US$50 million senior secured debt financing to Ukko Renewable for renewable energy projects across Southeast Asia.
Singapore

Singapore, 5 August 2026 – Global law firm Hogan Lovells Cadwalader has advised The Emerging Africa & Asia Infrastructure Fund Limited ("EAAIF"), a Private Infrastructure Development Group ("PIDG") company managed by Ninety One, on a US$50 million senior secured debt financing to Ukko Renewable Pte Ltd ("Ukko RE").

Ukko RE is a Singapore-based subsidiary of Groupe Duval, a French diversified industrial group with extensive renewable energy investments globally.

The financing will support the continued development of Ukko RE's portfolio of wind, solar and hydropower projects across Vietnam, the Philippines and other Southeast Asian countries. The transaction reflects continued investor and lender interest in supporting the energy transition across the region through innovative financing solutions.

EAAIF is a blended finance vehicle that raises and deploys public and private debt capital to transformative infrastructure projects across Africa, the Levant and South and Southeast Asia.

"We are pleased to have advised EAAIF on this significant financing for Ukko Renewable. The transaction reflects the increasing deployment of blended finance solutions to support the growth of renewable energy platforms in emerging markets." said Matt Bubb, APAC Head of Infrastructure, Energy, Resources and Projects. "It also showcases the strength of our cross-border practice, bringing together our teams in Singapore and Paris to deliver seamless support on a strategically important transaction."

The Hogan Lovells Cadwalader team was led by Matt Bubb and brought together a cross-border team from our Singapore and Paris offices. The Singapore team comprises of Matt Bubb, partners Kaveeta Sandhu (Banking) and Timothy Goh (Private Equity), counsel David Rho (Infrastructure, Energy, Resources and Projects), senior associate Wei Lun Koh (Restructuring and Special Situations) and associates Josh Everett (Infrastructure, Energy, Resources and Projects), Ashleigh Gan (Private Equity) and Precia Lian (Private Equity). They worked closely with our colleagues in our Paris office, including partner Olivier Fillie-Lambie, counsel Alexandre Salem, and associates Takudzwa Matondo and Jean-Noe Mwizerwa (all Infrastructure, Energy, Resources and Projects).

This transaction follows a strong flow of renewable energy and infrastructure financings, where Hogan Lovells Cadwalader has advised on, acting for both borrowers and lenders, many of whom are development finance institutions and multilateral organisations across Asia Pacific and globally. It also highlights the growing role of blended finance structures in mobilising capital for renewable energy and infrastructure projects in high-growth markets.
