Barnes & Thornburg announced today the additions of partners Jeff Ansley and Andrew Robbins in Dallas and partner David Last in Washington D.C., further bolstering the firm's White Collar, Compliance and Investigations (WCCI) practice with three accomplished former federal prosecutors and trial lawyers.

Ansley brings prolific experience defending individuals and companies in high-stakes criminal cases, government investigations and regulatory enforcement actions. A former federal prosecutor and past leader of the Department of Justice’s Complex Fraud Task Force for the Northern District of Texas, he is widely recognized for his trial-tested approach and deep understanding of government enforcement strategy.
Robbins is a seasoned litigator with more than 16 years of experience representing clients in complex commercial litigation, white collar defense and government investigations. He previously served as an assistant U.S. attorney and healthcare fraud coordinator for the Northern District of Texas, Civil Division, where he handled complex False Claims Act investigations, qui tam actions, parallel civil and criminal proceedings and healthcare fraud enforcement matters. Robbins is known for his collegial yet aggressive, principled and practical approach to navigating government scrutiny.

Last brings nearly 20 years of experience as a federal prosecutor for the Department of Justice, including as chief of the DOJ's FCPA Unit, where he oversaw all FCPA-related investigations, prosecutions, corporate resolutions, trials and compliance monitorships in the United States and led some of the largest coordinated FCPA resolutions in history. A seasoned trial lawyer who has personally tried more than 40 cases to verdict, Last also served for over a decade as an assistant U.S. attorney in Washington, D.C., prosecuting a wide range of white collar matters including financial fraud, public corruption, money laundering and bank fraud.

Ansley, Robbins and Last are the latest partners to join the WCCI practice following the arrival of Jeffrey Lehtman and Margot Laporte in Washington, D.C. Barnes & Thornburg's WCCI practice now includes five former U.S. attorneys and 18 former assistant U.S. attorneys, and is among the world’s preeminent legal teams for monitorships and internal investigations. The firm was named among Law360’s 2025 White Collar Practice Groups of the Year.
Ansley and Robbins are also among the notable recent additions to the Dallas office following the addition of private equity partner Ryan Mitchell, renewable energy tax partner Chad Sillman and M&A partner Brian Robertson.
