Hunters is delighted to announce that it has been appointed to the Charity Commission's Interim Managers Panel, a nationwide panel of 42 approved law firms in England and Wales eligible to undertake Interim Manager appointments.
The Charity Commission, the independent regulator of charities in England and Wales, appoints Interim Managers where there is evidence of serious misconduct, mismanagement or risk to charitable property, beneficiaries or the proper administration of a charity. These appointments are reserved for cases requiring independent intervention to protect charities, restore effective governance and safeguard public trust and confidence.
As Interim Managers, Hunters will be able to provide independent leadership where required to:
- protect charitable property, funds and beneficiaries;
- investigate governance and financial failures;
- strengthen governance, financial controls and regulatory compliance;
- address fraud, financial mismanagement and safeguarding concerns;
- improve oversight of domestic and overseas charitable operations; and
- help restore public confidence in charities facing significant regulatory challenges.
This appointment reflects Hunters' recognised expertise in charity law, governance, regulatory investigations and crisis management. The team, led by Dominik Opalinski, has extensive experience in helping charities navigate complex governance failures, regulatory intervention and safeguarding concerns while protecting charitable assets and ensuring organisations can continue to fulfil their charitable purposes.
