Our IP & Innovation practice has maintained its Gold ranking in the IAM Patent 1000: 2026, reaffirming the market's confidence in the strength and depth of our Patent practice.

The ranking recognises that our Patent team operates with the focus and expertise of a specialist boutique IP firm, while distinguishing itself by drawing on our Commercial IP team's specialist skills and the firm's broader expertise in tax, regulatory and commercial law. Despite its compact size, the team is noted for delivering the full range of patent services, from searching, filing, prosecution and litigation to specialist strategic and transactional advice.

The following individuals have been recognised:

  • Rowan Forster has been ranked Gold for Prosecution. His longstanding leadership of the patent practice, together with his dual capability- and qualification across patents and trade marks, continues to distinguish our offering.
  • Janine Thomas, head of the firm's Commercial IP practice, has maintained her Recommended ranking for Transactions, reflecting her strength in strategic advisory and transactional IP work.
  • Craig Shapiro has received a Recommended ranking for Transactions, recognising his commercially-focused approach to IP strategy and transactions.
  • Bernard Dippenaar has maintained his Recommended ranking as Next Generation, underscoring his growing influence within the patent practice.

Gaelyn Scott, Head of IP & Innovation said, "This team continues to achieve well‑deserved results, reflecting their technical expertise, collaborative approach and ongoing commitment to delivering pragmatic, high‑quality advice to our clients. Thank you to the team for their excellence and our clients for their trust."
